I write in full support of Max Burgess’s letter, (September 17) regarding the badger cull.
These poor innocent animals are being slaughtered for no other reason than that they exist.
Their deaths at the hand of man are a sad reflection of the sick times we live in.
Vaccines exist, and can be used, but for whatever reason they are not, man would rather kill these shy creatures.
Many are ‘up in arms’ over pollution, greenhouse gasses, climate change etc.
Well let’s look closer to home, we can make a start by protecting our wildlife, because it seems to me that very soon we won’t have any.
In years to come, when asked by your grandchildren “What did badgers look like?” and “Why didn’t you try to stop the killing?” what will be your excuse?
We have to make a stand now.
