MS celebrates Radnor lottery boost
Kirsty Williams, Welsh Liberal Democrat Member of the Senedd for Brecon and Radnorshire, has celebrated new National Lottery funding for Radnor Federation of Young Farmers Clubs and Presteigne Festival of Music and the Arts.
The National Lottery Community Fund has awarded £7, 100 to Radnor Federation of Young Farmers Clubs to adapt their Llandrindod Wells centre for upgraded toilet and hand-washing facilities and additional seating and cleaning costs following the Covid-19 outbreak. It will also help boost the publicity budget for Radnor YFCs.
Presteigne Festival of Music and the Arts will receive a £5, 990 grant to run a creative writing project, reaching people impacted by the isolation and loneliness caused by the pandemic.
Ms Williams said: “Young Farmers Clubs and Arts initiatives like the Presteigne Festival make significant contributions to the quality of life and strong communities in Radnorshire.
“As we slowly rebuild our economic, social and cultural lives after the pandemic, they will be more important than ever.
“I am delighted that the work they do is being recognized and supported by this funding and congratulate all those involved in securing it.”
