WORKS to install five new road crossings is now underway according to the county council.
New zebra crossings are being installed at each of the five locations to improve pedestrian safety and provide better access to local amenities.
Work on the first two crossings on Brickfields Road, Worcester and Hewell Road, Redditch began this week.
Councillor Alan Amos, Worcestershire County Council's Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Highways, said: "Iām pleased that work is now underway to install these crossings.
"We continually monitor areas across the county to see if any upgrades are needed to improve safety and access within residential settings.
"These locations were all highlighted as needing extra provision for people to cross the road safely and we have acted on that.ā
Works on the next two crossings will start on August 24. These will be located on Tolladine Road, Worcester and on Station Road, Pershore.
The last of these new crossings is planned for Willow Way in Redditch, with works scheduled to take place later in the summer.
