A BOOK that was bought more than 5,500 miles from Hereford is thought to have a name inside from someone who came from the city.
Hasitha Eranga Walagamagedara bought the book titled Everyman's Dictionary of Music by Eric Blom from his local bargain book shop in Sri Lanka.
He was surprised to find written inside: 'DI and LW Johnson, Hereford, July 1947'.
Mr Walagamagedara would like to find out more about where the book came from or if anybody still in Hereford recognises the names inside.
The British, had control over the whole island during this period, colonising it between 1815 and 1948.
Anybody with any information about the names inside can contact the Hereford Times by email at: news@herefordtimes.com
