AN OIL spill which closed a road in Hereford on Friday morning has been stopped from running into a nearby brook.
Herefordshire Council contractor Balfour Beatty said Lower Bullingham Lane between Holme Lacy Road and the junction with Watery Lane was closed shortly before midday due to an oil spillage.
"Our teams contained the fuel spillage and stopped it entering Red Brook water course," a spokesperson said.
"The specialist contractor used to remove the fuel from the road is on site (3pm)."
Red Brook runs from Aconbury, through Hereford and into the river Wye east of Rotherwas.
