A PPE production facility in Herefordshire has received a funding boost to help cover their costs in producing headshields for NHS and care staff.
Hereford's New Model Institute for Technology and Engineering converted its administration offices at Gardner Hall, Hereford into a makeshift factory producing vitally needed PPE items for both NHS acute hospitals and local care homes last month.
Hundreds of the 3D printed forehead bands with see-through Acetate visors have been delivered to front-line care workers across the county after NMITE's design was approved by clinicians at the NHS Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit.

And now the Herefordshire Community Foundation has awarded NMITE £5,000 from the National Emergencies TrustCoronavirus Appeal Fund to help cover costs for NMITE’s production of headshields.
Professor Elena Rodriguez-Falcon, President and CEO of NMITE said: “It is an honour to be able to do our bit to help health care workers at this difficult time.
"The fact that the NET and Herefordshire Community Foundation chose NMITE’s PPE production facility to allocate funds recognises the value NMITE’s team of engineers is delivering to local frontline workers. It makes me very proud.”
