People have been buying potatoes at Herefordshire convenience shop and re-selling them at a profit.
Locks garage at Allensmore says it has received reports that £5 sacks of spuds have been changing hands for £10.
It has appealed to customers not to buy them.
Some shops have shortages of some items because of panic buying linked to the coronavirus epidemic.

Earlier this week Locks said it was considering closing due to the abuse staff had received.
The Golden Valley store said its staff had faced some "totally unacceptable behaviour".
In a Facebook post the shop and petrol station thanked the vast majority of customers, and their staff.
But it said: “If staff abuse continues we are in discussions about closing. It is not acceptable.”

The shop remains open amid the current coronavirus restrictions, but has implemented a one-way system and is asking customers to queue behind marked tape.
Also, it has asked that only one person from each vehicle enters the shop.
