THE FOUNDERS of new Herefordshire crisp brand Two Farmers have appeared on an episode of the BBC’s Farmers’ Country Showdown.

Mark Green and Sean Mason hit screens on BBC One in February as the show followed the pair getting ready to attend Droitwich Food Festival last summer, along with Pershore’s Juneberry Gin Liqueur.

The BBC show resulted in a huge spike in interest online for the crisp brand that is going from strength to strength in the county and beyond with listings now in Selfridges and Booths.

Mark and Sean produce artisan crisps at Peterstow which they package in the first ever 100 per cent compostable crisp packets.

The two also boast that their green crisps, launched in 2018, are made using renewable energy as part of their big commitment to giving back to the environment.

The farm has also won an award for being the UK’s Most Carbon Neutral farm. They are continuing this with their crisps.

This year, the producers of Farmers’ Country Showdown are travelling the length and breadth of the UK to celebrate the agricultural industry, delving into everything from traditional livestock and potato vodka to artisan food and pygmy goats.

Produced by Sidney Street Productions, the hit show follows the journeys of inspirational farming families as they showcase their produce and compete to win awards at some of the most prestigious farming events.

The show shines a light on the UK meeting farmers from a variety of specialist industries to discover what success and survival means to them.

Commissioning editor for the BBC, Helen Munson, said: “I’m delighted to be showcasing these truly inspirational farmers and their families from across the UK.

“This series gets to the heart of what it takes to be a farmer in Britain today – passion, dedication and often entrepreneurial spirit”.
