THE HEREFORD River Carnival have announced their decision to postpone this year's event.
Event manager Leo Caithness said: "It will come as no surprise to you all that after careful consideration we are moving Hereford River Carnival from May to September 4 and 5.
"Hereford River Carnival happens thanks to hundreds of groups and thousands of brilliant people and it would be unfair to ask them to risk their own health and prepare for an event in May that with the current health situation probably couldn’t happen.
"So, with true Herefordian grit, we are carrying on with all our preparations so that we can all enjoy the biggest, best celebration ever seen on the Wye in September".
