A FRAUDSTER targeted a number of vulnerable people in north Herefordshire villages in a serious of frauds over the last week.
Vulnerable victims in St Andrews Close and St Peters Close in Moreton on Lugg, Docklow, Bodenham and Leysters were contacted by a man purporting to be from the police.
The man told the victims their cards had been fraudulently used in Argos.
He then asked the victim to replace the receiver and call police. The line is kept open by the fraudster, so the victim believes they are through to police.
Some of the victims were convinced to obtain cash from their banks and return home with it.
The man then visited their homes and collected the cash.
Police said large amounts of cash were stolen in the fraud.
This is a series of similar attempts that are believed to have been carried out by the same male over the past few days.
There is no known suspect at this time, and enquiries are continuing.
