ARE you looking for something to do with the kids this summer holiday?

The National Trust has a wealth of history and adventure available right on our doorstep.

At Berrington Hall, near Leominster, you can follow the footsteps of Little Red Riding Hood, play cricket and put your sea legs to the test with boating on the lake on August 17.

Discover the gardens after-hours on Saturdays throughout August, with live music and boating on selected evenings.

And families can reconnect with nature with ‘50 things to do before you’re 11 ¾’, or take a step back in time in the 18th Century mansion.

Spend hours exploring nature at Bromyard’s 1,700-acre Brockhampton estate, before stepping inside the chocolate-box manor house, while children can lead the way to the Natural Play Trail in Paradise Wood.

The estate also offers plenty of places to picnic and relax, a perfect backdrop for the summer.

Embark on a summertime adventure at Croft Castle, near Leominster, with a ‘Swallows and Amazons’ trail around the gardens.

Little explorers can make their own “wild crown” on August 15, and for the bigger explorers, a bushcraft survival weekend on August 31 and September 1 promises to develop your outside survival skills.

In the Weir Garden at Swainshill, you can enjoy nature’s hustle-and-bustle as the garden becomes a hive of activity.

Families can take part in outdoor sessions every Wednesday in August, with a range of activities and spend a couple of hours playing on the seaside sand as the beach returns to the River Wye.
