AN INNOVATIVE nano brewery has been nominated in the Hereford Times Food and Drink Awards.

Their first commercial beers may only have been launched in May this year, but the Weobley Brewing Company are already making a name for themselves in their local community.

The venture began in 2018, when Tom Evans, head chef at Jules Restaurant in Weobley, decided to combine two of his favourite pursuits.

With the backing of the restaurant, he constructed a nano brewery in a building adjacent to the kitchen, where he has spent the last year honing and developing his brewing skills and recipes.

The company's beers are now stocked in Weobley's Jules Restaurant and The Old School Shop, and in the Market & Deli in Almeley, with the list set to expand soon.

"Weobley Brewing Company is a new and innovative nano brewery, brewing traditional beers with modern flavours and fresh, new ingredients," Tom said.

"Every step of the brewing process is carried out by the brewer himself, thus guaranteeing quality, consistency and a personal touch with every brew."

The brewery sources local hops and barley from Malvern hop merchants Charles Faram, flavouring ingredients are also locally sourced, with the roasted beans used for their mocha stout supplied by Presteigne based Foot Print Coffee.

"We take the finest malts and steep them in top quality Herefordshire water, then boil using the best hops we can source, using generations-old methods, and state of the art equipment to produce quality and consistent beers every time," Tom said.
