THE reason for a short burst period of police activity in Hereford this afternoon has been revealed.
They were after a runaway dog.
Officers were concerned that the animal could have endangered road users as it ran about in Ross Road area of the city centre.
The Staffordshire terrier that was on the loose is currently safe and being looked after. If the owner recognises their dog they should call 101 or visit Hereford police station front counter (incident number 0425S 020619).
