LOCAL chef, Aaron King, has decided to hang up his whites and explore a new career as an apprentice at innovative accountancy firm, Thorne Widgery.

The professionally trained pastry chef from The Temple Bar Inn, a 2AA Rosette restaurant in Ewyas Harold, will be undergoing his AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) studies with the practice based in Wyevale Business Park.

Having previously completed A Levels in computing, mathematics and business studies at Hereford Sixth Form College in 2015 he is the ideal recruit for the firm, which has a large focus on technology and the implementation of online accounting software.

Speaking about his appointment, Aaron said: "While I loved my career as a chef, I am delighted to be joining the team at Thorne Widgery to pursue my passion for accounting.

"The training structure at Thorne Widgery really stood out, showing constant training with a lot of room for progression.

"I hope that I am able to bring some of my creative flair from the kitchen into the office to help come up with new innovative ways of delivering services to clients."

Thorne Widgery is about to commence its latest trainee recruitment process and is welcoming applications for accounting, audit and administration apprentices and graduate trainees.
