As part of their 20th anniversary celebratory tour, Jamie Smith’s Mabon will be performing at The Courtyard on Wednesday, February 20.
Mabon was formed from two families in 1999, playing homespun arrangements of Welsh folk dance tunes in the pubs and 'twmpath' dances of their native South Wales.
Mabon’s distinctive, multi-award winning music explores the styles of the Celtic traditions and works them anew; the music is self-styled, singular and a blend of world music and Celtic roots, presented with good humour, energy, joy and passion.
With twenty years of experience performing at major World, Celtic and Folk festivals across the globe, this five-piece band of musicians perform original compositions – all given the same creative treatment as the band dances along the borders between Celtic heritage and contemporary sound.
This year they will be playing new and old album tracks in their global tour.
Jamie Smith’s Mabon will be at The Courtyard on Wednesday, February 20 at 7.45pm. To book, call the box office on 01432 340555 or visit courtyard.org.uk
