On Saturday, February 16, Caldicot Male Voice Choir will perform at Ewyas Harold Memorial Hall in support of St Michael's Hospice.
The choir, Côr Meibion Caldicot, was formed in 1963 by men who moved to the area from all over Wales to man the furnaces and mills of the new steelworks at Llanwern, and takes great pride in its use of both traditional and modern Welsh music within its extensive repertoire, but is often heard singing a wide variety of musical styles in English, German or Italian.
The Choir quickly established itself and prides itself on its many achievements and successes in the competition arena, which include first prize at the National Eisteddfod of Wales and five places at Miners’ Eisteddfod.
The concert also features soloist Amber Powell and guitar/vocalist Kirsty Thomas.
As well as the music, there will be a licensed bar and a raffle.
Hear Caldicot Male Voice Choir in concert at Ewyas Harold Memorial Hall at 7pm. Tickets, priced £12, are available from Tom Williams on 01981 240247 or Phil Lockett on 01873 860697. To buy online, visit st-michaels-hospice.org.uk. All proceeds will go to St Michael's Hospice.
