A HEREFORD man is preparing to tackle the tricky terrain of the Hadrian's Wall walk to raise funds for good causes.

Twenty-nine-year-old Josh Dempster has his sights set on completing the 90-mile walking challenge in just five days in March.

The Young Boots Football Academy owner and coach is aiming to raise £3,000 to support local organisations working with disabled children and youth.

"This walk will allow me to witness some of the most amazing sights that nature can offer whilst giving me a good challenge at the same time, and it's all for great causes," Mr Dempster said.

"Young Boots has been coaching children of primary school age for 12 months now, and we work with several county charities to offer football coaching to children with mental and physical disabilities.

"We are now in a position to grow very quickly, but as we are completely non-profit we need funding to do this.

"I also really want to support the South Wye Boxing Academy, a great project which provides coaching and mentoring for children, some of whom may have learning difficulties or disabilities.

"Lastly, I will be donating to organisations providing conductive education sessions for children and adults with motor disorders such as cerebral palsy, dyspraxia, stroke and acquired brain injury."

Mr Dempster is also holding a charity raffle, to be drawn on February 8, with prizes ranging from meal vouchers to paintballing sessions donated by several Herefordshire businesses to boost his fundraising bid.
