BRIAN Swinyard will be presenting My Favourite Techniques at Bartestree Village Hall, Ledbury Road, Hereford HR1 4BY at 7.30pm on Thursday, January 17 for the Herefordshire Photographic Society.

He is an 'aspirational' photographer with special interest in contemporary, creative, travel and portrait photography.

Brian is regarded in the UK Camera Club Circuit, not only as a prolific image-maker but also as an inspiration to others. His photography is varied and shows a great deal of technical expertise, originality and enviable imagination.

He is a member of the Royal Photographic Society (RPS), Photographic Society of America (PSA), Bureau of Freelance Photographers (BFP), London Independent Photography (LIP), InScape, schoolofphotography.com (SOP), Cheltenham Camera Club, Gloucester Camera Club and Smethwick Photographic Society.

Approximately 1500 of his images have been accepted (some Medal winners) in national and international exhibitions and salons in numerous countries. His work has been published in in-house and photography magazines and journals.

Brian graduated BA(Hons) Degree in Psychology with The Open University and MA Degree in Photography with De Montfort University. The latter included critical surveys and analysis of: Moment of Death photographs in war photography, Urban Landscapes viewed as monochrome negatives and Personal Identity: Transition from Camera Club to Master of Arts Photographer.

He is a national and international judge, lecturer, and tutor on the School of Photography.com's (SOP) Basic, Digital and Landscape Photography Courses.

He recently co-authored a poetry and photographic book contemplating the meaning the life having been diagnosed with cancer.

His co-author, Richard Lodge, a cancer surgeon, had also been diagnosed with terminal Motor Neurone Disease, and they collaborated on the book Two Become One in order to spread some comfort for others searching for answers and to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Association.
