The Christmas lights switch-on in High Street, Hereford, was a spectacular success.
A large crowd gathered from early yesterday afternoon to watch entertainment headlined by girl band Liberty X, who had 10 consecutive top 20 singles in the mid-2000s.
The fun started on the Sunshine Radio Live Stage at 3pm and the lights themselves went on at 5pm.
While some people applauded the event on the Hereford Times Facebook page others complained about the standard of the sound system and the emphasis on entertainment aimed at adults rather than young children.
