A TEENAGER who raped a 13-year-old girl when he was 15 was seen walking with another schoolgirl who had no idea of his conviction.

Harry Wooles, now aged 19, was twice spotted with the same 15-year-old who was in school uniform on a road in Hereford, placing him in breach of a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO).

The order stipulates that Wooles must not have unsupervised contact with any child under 16. The breaches took place between May 20 and May 23 this year.

Charles Crinion, prosecuting, said the SHPO was imposed on March 13, 2017, for an offence of rape of a child under 16 in 2015, in this case a 13-year-old girl.

Mr Crinion said Wooles had previously breached the same order and was dealt with for it by way of a fine. The first breach of the SHPO happened just eight days after it was made on March 21, 2017. The girl said she met the defendant in January of this year and described him as ‘acting normally’ and talking to her about school. It was agreed that the defendant had made no sexual remarks, had not applied any pressure to the girl or encouraged her. No arrangements were made to meet her.

The girl did not know about Wooles’s previous conviction.

He admitted the breach on June 2 this year after Wooles was reported for breaking the terms of the SHPO by someone who saw him with the girl.

Martin Butterworth, defending, said: “She doesn’t suggest in her witness statement that there was any improper discussion at all.”

The court heard said Wooles of Brierley Hill, Dudley had support with his living and suffered from anxiety and lack of confidence.

He was placed on an electronically tagged home detention for two months which will be in force seven days a week between 8pm and 7am.
