THE 20th annual Leominster Apple Fair will be held on Saturday, October 20 from 10am to 4pm at the Priory Church, Leominster.

It will be a celebration of Herefordshire's delicious local food and drink, and once again, there will be a wonderful display of locally grown apples, many unusual and of local origin, thanks to generous contributors.

Organisers would like to extend their thanks to the Marcher Apple Network and others, for these older varieties which are being saved from extinction and are being grown locally.

On the day there will be apple identification from 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 4pm.

There will be stalls selling a wide variety of local apples, cider, juices, beer, cakes, jams, chutneys, honey, bread, olive oil, soap, crafts, books, and refreshments.

There are also a number of voluntary organisations and charities supporting important local activities.

There are exhibitions, and demonstrations of botanical art, weaving, rug making and basket making.

Entertainment will include the Jenny Pipes Morris, Leominster Ukelele Band, the Hooligans, and facepainting and other activities for children.

In addition, Russell Sutcliffe will be pressing apples outside the church, and will have apple juice and cider for tasting.
