A CYCLIST who died in a crash in Fownhope has been named.
Herefordshire Coroner's Officer said the woman's name was Pauline Heather Towell, aged 56, from Fownhope.
An inquest into her death had been opened and adjourned.
Emergency services were called to the B4224 between Fownhope and Mordiford on Friday, September 27 at 7.35pm.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, ambulance staff found an off-duty doctor and nurse tending to the woman cyclist.
“Ambulance staff carried out advanced life support at the scene, but sadly, it was not possible to save the woman and she was confirmed dead at the scene.
“There were no other injuries.”
Fire crews from Fownhope and Hereford also attended the crash between the cyclist and a car.
