VOLUNTEERS stepped forward to remove graffiti at the Ross-on-Wye skatepark.
The skatepark off Wilton Road has been busy this summer with young people using the refurbished ramps.
But graffiti has also blighted the area and the town council committed additional funding to re-paint the site's artwork.
Two volunteers from Enviroability, along with a member of the council’s staff, have been busy scraping off the rust and preparing the surfaces. Councillor Richard Mayo, the Amenities Committee chairman said: ‘It’s great to see this partnership approach to making improvements in town and we’re happy that Enviroability is committed to working with the council to see this happen.’
Artist Tom Cousins will then work on the fresh paintwork. The town council hopes the creation of a new graffiti wall will mean no further graffiti with be sprayed on the artwork.
