ON August 25 Wigmore Shop, which is a community venture, celebrated its first 10 years of serving the Mortimer area community.
With assistance from the Big Lottery Fund the management was able to invite over 60 people, including present and past volunteers, customers and representative members of the local community to come and celebrate the shop's success on its premises.
To seal the proceedings, David Gardiner, Bryan Casbourne and Jill Fieldhouse, three of the original founders, cut the huge number 10 cake.
The event was enjoyed by a full turnout of the community and organisers were able to share some of the food with residents of the village's old peoples' home.
Fine weather helped the day along and the happy conversations were accompanied by Mark Richards of the Rhythm Thieves, a local band.
