APPLICATIONS for places at Herefordshire’s primary and secondary schools open later this month.
Anyone applying for a primary school place can do so online at www.herefordshire.gov.uk/primaryschooladmissions from September 17.
The process is for applications to all primary school reception classes across Herefordshire for children who turn five between September 1, 2019 and August 31, 2020.
Parents and carers must still apply for a reception class place – even if they already have a place in the nursery associated with their preferred school.
The closing date for all primary school reception class applications is midnight on Tuesday, January 15, 2019.
Those applying for a secondary school place can apply online now at www.herefordshire.gov.uk/secondaryschooladmissions.
The process is for children turning 12 years old between September 2019 and August 2020, who will be moving from year 6 into year 7.
The closing date for all secondary school applications is midnight on Wednesday, October 31 2018.
For parents or carers who are unable to apply online, a paper application form can be requested from the council’s school admissions team on 01432 260925.
Or alternatively on email from schooladmissions@herefordshire.gov.uk or dskyrme@herefordshire.gov.uk
The council warns that late applications could result in children not being offered a place in a preferred school.
