HAPPY to help the Ross Rowing Club Junior Squad in the past, both Ross Lions Club and Ross Rotary Club were pleased to be able to help a little more when they appealed for funds to enable them to purchase a Stampfli double sculling boat, one in which they won a bronze medal this year.
Explaining the need, Ross Rowing Club's Torsten Pope explained "For the size of the Ross Rowing Club and the Ross area we have a highly successful Junior Rowing Squad.
"Recently the Juniors have won events far and wide this year, picking up three medals representing the West Midlands in the Inter-regional Regatta, many wins at Monmouth, Marlow, Evesham and Blenheim Palace Regattas."
The boat was on show at Ross Regatta and members of both Rotary and Lions Clubs were present to meet the young rowers and present donations to the Rowing Club President.
