THE family of a 25-year-old who died in a crash in Hampton Bishop have paid tribute to "the centre of their world."

Katie Smith from Presteigne died last Wednesday when the motorcycle she was riding was in a collision with a Honda 4x4.

She was in the company of two other motorcyclists after completing a Compulsory Basic Training test when the crash happened.

Her family has released the following tribute: "Katie was the centre of our world, always aspiring to do more with her crazy and impulsive ideas.

"She has two beautiful children and partner that adore her so much and we can't even contemplate how to continue living our lives without her.

"She would make the room light up and would do almost anything for anybody, she loved day trips out with family no matter where it was.

"She has her own boutique shop in Kington that she always wanted to make bigger and better. Her smile, her smell and her voice will be missed so much it's unreal."

The crash is believed to have occurred as the black Honda CG 125 motorcycle was travelling on the B4224 through the village of Hampton Bishop out of the city and was in collision with a Honda 4x4 travelling in the opposite direction towards the city.

Police continue to appeal for witnesses to the collision. Anyone with information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101 quoting incident 501s of 23 May.

An appeal has been set up by the family to raise money for Katie's funeral and also the upbringing of her children. To donate click here
