FOR the fifth year, Wellington Book Club will be awarding prizes for the most improved readers in each class at Wellington Primary School during the summer term.
Wellington Book Club founded the awards to support effort and enthusiasm in reading at the village primary school.
Class teachers judge which child has made most improvement in reading and a book, chosen to suit their reading interests, is awarded at a special assembly towards the end of term.
To set the ball rolling for this year's awards, all the pupils joined in with one of the book club members to crack the code of "WBCMIRA".
Other literacy initiatives in Wellington school include book bingo and playtime rewards for completion of daily reading records.
Wellington school's library was fully refurbished two years ago.
