ANNETTE Morris, manager of Whitegates Nursing home invited a contingent of Bromyard Royal British Legion members to visit and join the residents for lunch on April 21 to celebrate National Care Home Day.

Roger Page, deputy mayor joined in, making the party 11.

With the visitors was Lcpl Stephen Gow of Bromyard ACF who is also a youth member of the branch.

He met resident and RAF veteran Stan Adam who is 101 in September 2018. Stan was in fine fettle and chatted about the By-pass poppies members are all making.

Nikki Ellis the activities coordinator is actively working to ensure the residents have the opportunity to make a By-pass poppy to enable them to join in fully with the First World War commemorations the branch are promoting and running.

Louise the master chef put on a cold buffet spread and the visitors joined other residents including RAF veteran Bob Badham to make new friends and hear their stories.
