A RESCUE operation took place near Symonds Yat on Sunday afternoon to find a woman with a suspected broken ankle.
Fire crews from Whitchurch and Hereford assisted the search to find the casualty who had fallen near to Wyastone Leys, Ganrew on the River Wye walk, down the river from Symonds Yat.
The ambulance service was called at 3.10pm. An ambulance spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a 42-year-old woman who had an ankle injury. An ambulance, paramedic officer and the hazardous area response team (HART) attended.
"The paramedic officer used his 4x4 but he had to get out and walk. They used a Polaris, a 6x6 vehicle, and they used that to transport the patient back to the land ambulance."
She was taken to Hereford County Hospital with an ankle injury.
