One-day course at The Print Shed explores colour in painting with Marianne Ryan

On Thursday, from 10am to 4pm, The Print Shed in Madley will host a one-day workshop with Marianne Ryan.In The Role of Colour, Marianne will look at whether there are rules for the use of colour, and which colours to use for subtlety, to harmonize or for vibrant contrast, for warmth or cool? Marianne's vivid explanations and demonstrations will get you trying all sorts of colour combinations using acrylic paints to discover which colours are harmonious and which are discordant. Learn how to brighten colours, soften them or intensify their effects. You'll be introduced to the idea of complementary colour, as well as finding out how to create mood and atmosphere. Learn about colour relationships and how the use of colour adds to the language of art.
