A MAN was found with hundreds of indecent images of children on his phone and computer, magistrates heard.
Richard Sawyer, 31, of Roman Way, Coleford, pleaded guilty to three counts of making (downloading) indecent photographs of children and one count of distributing an indecent photograph of a child.
Peter Love, prosecuting, said that the images were found on Sawyer's phone and computer.
Sawyer, formerly from Marden, was found with 559 category A indecent images 'of the strongest type', 198 category B and 191 category C.
"The examination of his computer showed details of files which included clear pornographic material and search terms had thrown up such material," said Mr Love.
"It is obvious from the material that the children were underage and at a vulnerable age. There was no attempt to dispose or conceal the evidence.
"There was a large number of different victims involved and some children had been drugged or intoxicated."
The case was adjourned for Sawyer to appear before Worcester Crown Court next month.
He was released on unconditional bail not to have unsupervised contact with any child under 16 years old.
