A DRINK driver was noticed by police after parking 'precariously' at a junction, magistrates heard.
Daniel Wiggin, 29, of How Caple, Hereford, pleaded guilty to drink driving at Hereford Magistrates Court last week.
Kriss Ewing, prosecuting, said that on December 15, at 1.40am police officers on routine patrol on the B4224 in How Caple saw Wiggin's car parked 'precariously' at a junction.
"He was seen to drive away and was driving in an erratic manner," said Mrs Ewing.
"He was asked to stop due to the manner of his driving."
Marilena Di Vitantonio, mitigating, said that Wiggin was coping with a recent bereavement and the breakdown of a relationship at the time of the incident.
"He was using alcohol as a coping mechanism," said Miss Di Vitantonio.
"He is now medicated for depression. He says it was a stupid thing to do and is paying for it now by being disqualified from driving."
Wiggin was ordered to pay a £415 fine, £135 costs and a £41 victim surcharge.
He was also disqualified from driving for 12 months, which could be reduced by three months of the completion of a drink driving rehabilitation course.
