MEMBERS and volunteers met at St Peter's Church on November 6 to install displays of poppies for the community to enjoy during the Remembrance period.
Sally Fresle, Phyllis Vernalls, Lucy Aldridge, Lynne and Tom Dunn, Jan Brodie Murphy busied away the day putting in the most beautiful poppy designs.
Lucy Aldridge, a Legion member lost her son Rifleman William Aldridge in Afghanistan on July 10, 2009 and members asked her if she would care to decorate the window next to the plaque of Remembrance to her son.
Her design was quite breathtaking and she even amazed herself as she has never done floristry before.
Attendees commented on how wonderful the designs looked at the Sunday service.
