LITTLE Britain television star Matt Lucas will start the festive season in Hay-on-Wye next Friday (November 24) by turning on their Christmas lights.
The border town will be turned into a winter wonderland as Castle Street is pedestrianised to allow independent shops to spill out onto the pavement serving chestnuts roast, mince pies, cider and mulled wine among other goods.
The Cheese Market/Memorial Carpark will host the lights switch-on where Hay School and more than twenty other local businesses have Christmas Stalls in the huge marquee. The event takes place between 5pm and 7.30pm with the lights switching-on at 6pm.
