HIMBLETON seconds matched their first XI by being crowned Worcestershire Cricket League Division Four champions.

With third-placed Himley losing and Himbleton’s top-of-the-table clash at Kidderminster abandoned they too achieved promotion with a game to spare.

Martley won by eight wickets at Himley in a 25-over match.

In damp conditions Himley struggled to 107 all out as Jai Wickham took 3-13.

Alec Francis (48) and James Francis (42) raced to 91 in 16 overs before Martley sealed their 10th win of the season.

Malvern beat Hanley Castle and Upton, dismissing them for just 38 as Mike McCullum grabbed 5-17.

West Malvern won at Worcester after Sam Nicklin took 5-44 to restrict the hosts to 149 before James Herring scored a rapid 93 not out.

Hallow won by three wickets in a low-scoring encounter with bottom-two side Old Elizabethans.

Old Vigornians held on against Astwood Bank at New Road to guarantee second in Division Three and promotion.

Needing 142 to secure the losing draw they succeeded with four balls left as final pair Zain Hussain (24no) and Sami Riaz (1no) added 11 in the last four overs.

Rain forced the match to be reduced to 40 overs and Bank reached 100-1 from 22 overs.

The innings turned in a short spell of rain as Phil Mackie (2-34) and Hussain (3-33) removed the top order before Eliot Turner (2-47) returned to impress as Bank closed on 189-9.

OVs' top order succumbed to fine bowling by a youthful attack and slumped to 48-7.

But Turner made 21 before man of the match Hussain and James Hayward-Meek (37) added 46 for the ninth wicket as OVs held on.

Champions Rushwick had a winning draw against Alvechurch and Hopwood with Matt Davies hitting 90no.

Stourport made 302-8 at home to Avoncroft with 112 from Alan Lockwood.

In Division One fourth-placed Worcester beat struggling Evesham thanks to Duncan Kasuso's 76.

Stourport’s Neil Bailey made 103 but Bewdley just took the winning draw.

Droitwich Spa and Cookley are promoted from Division Two but will meet on Saturday to decide the title.
