Presteigne based jazz pianist and leader of the Blue Haze Quartet, Simon Deeley, will launch his band's new album, From the Blue Hills, with their first concert performance in St Andrew's Church, Presteigne on Friday, September 22.
The album features eleven original compositions by Simon in styles ranging from the lively Latin jazz of On a Wing and a Dance thorugh the 'in-the-groove-jazz' of Soul of the West to gentle reflective ballads such as Ballad of the Blue Waters.
The concert will feature tracks from the album as well as a selection of classic evocative jazz ballads sung by guest vocalist Steve Hollinghurst
Tickets, £10 to include a glass of wine, available from Winnie's Stores, Presteigne.
