FOUR private gardens were opened to the public at the top of Rockes Meadow in Knighton to raise money for the British Heart Foundation recently.
The event organised by Marion Brick in memory of her father, David Bufton raised over £1200.
Gardens belonging to Marion and Clive Brick, Sue and Graham Francis, Margaret Bufton and Ted and Diana Rogers were viewed by scores of people, each garden having its own unique layout.
Also at the event were plants and cakes for sale, a tombola, children's competitions, guess the name of the sheep and how many balloons in the Smart car and a raffle. Mandy Farmer guessed how many balloons in the car (84) and the first ten raffle winners were Sharon Jones, Val Smith, Omar Khan, Andy, Jennie Powell, Steve Beamond, Joy Burgin, Mary Niblock, Mike Conway and Jane Bevan.
