NEW lighting along a walking and cycling route in Hereford has been completed.
Low-level lighting posts have been installed on the Greenway to improve journeys for people who are travelling to and from businesses in Rotherwas.
The work was commissioned and funded by the Hereford Enterprise Zone and completed by Balfour Beatty.
The new lighting runs from the Greenway bridge to the railway bridge underpass.
Chairman of the Hereford Enterprise Zone board Bill Jackson said: "Since the Greenway opened it has become a well established route for workers and visitors who are coming to and from the zone.
“We hope the lighting will make it more accessible throughout the year and encourage more people out of their cars and onto the Greenway. Developing ways to encourage more environmentally friendly journeys into and out of the zone is a key part of our sustainable travel plan and the new lighting will go some way to helping us achieve this."
The three-mile Greenway route offers a more environmentally friendly alternative to driving through the city to reach the Enterprise Zone.
