A TEAM of eight teenagers from Bishop of Hereford Bluecoat School in has won one of only 12 places available in the 2007 Kielder Challenge Finals after beating off competition from more than 250 teams across the UK.

The Kielder Challenge is a unique outdoor adventure competition for youngsters with and without physical, learning and sensory disabilities. The event is in its 23rd year and is organised by the UK's leading outdoor access charity, Fieldfare Trust, and is supported by HSBC in the Community.

The grand final is split into two two-day finals between September 19 and 23 and will be held in Kielder Forest in Northumberland. The cup final sees the top six regional winners compete on September 22 and 23 while the second place regional winners compete in the plate final on September 19 and 20. Bishops will be competing in the Kielder Challenge Plate Final.

The team - made up of Caleb Thomas (15), Toby Razvi (15), Leon Gilks (15), Hannah Tong (15), Rachel Taylor (15), Pippa Bishop (15), Amy Clements (14) and Helen Leighton (14) - scored highly in the West Midlands region after it took part in the regional heat at Queenswood Country Park.
