PUPILS at Eardisley Church of England Primary School were treated to a unique experience to learn about and taste foods from around the world, when a local greengrocer paid them a visit.
Martin McAlpine, produce manager at nearby Oakchurch in Staunton-on-Wye, shared his advice with the youngsters about how important fruit and vegetables are to a healthy diet and told them all about how to make sure of their 'five a day'.
"I was very impressed with the knowledge that the children had both of the produce and the countries of the world." Said Martin. "It was great for a local business to have this opportunity to get involved with a local school in this way."
"A great day was had by all especially when the class teacher was blindfolded for a taste test which ended bin tasting a red-hot chilli which greatly amused the children."
