A 30-year-old who was abusive to bar staff in Hereford has been fined £65.
Stephen Noakes of South Street in Leominster pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in Commercial Street in Hereford on June 12.
Owen Beale, prosecuting at Hereford Magistrates Court, said it was 6pm when Noakes went into Wetherspoons in Commercial Road.
Staff refused to serve him because he was clearly drunk and he then began to swear at the staff.
He was asked to leave but when he wouldn't the police were called.
Noakes was then abusive to the officer so he was arrested.
Noakes, defending himself, said he had not been out drinking for two months because he is on anti-psychotic medication.
He said he had become very depressed as he had been looking after his nan but she had gone into a nursing home. He said he ended up having a drink and cannot remember much after that.
He is in contact with Addaction on a weekly basis and also receives support from the NHS mental health team. He apologised for his behaviour.
He was fined £65 and ordered to pay costs of £50 and a £30 victim surcharge.
