THE Seventh-day Adventist Church in Hereford took Refugee Weekend very seriously and, despite being a rather small church, managed to collect £220. The money was then used to purchase tinned fish for the refugees in Calais and Dunkirk, as this is what was needed at the time. David Bland from the Leominster Priory uses the Baptist Church minibus to travel to France on a regular basis to deliver goods to the refugees. He and his volunteers have just returned but another visit is already planned for July. Volunteers are always needed to help sort clothes, assist with cooking and for basic support in the makeshift schools. Many local churches are involved in this project and through their association with Churches Together the Seventh-day Adventist Church is proud to be able to add their name to the list of helpers.
