RESIDENTS at Leadon Bank in Ledbury raised a magnificent £500 for the Birmingham Children's Hospital (BCH) by holding a "fun for all the family" event. Cakes were baked and tea served; and stalls with bric a brac and other items proved popular. Residents, their families and friends enjoyed themselves listening to and singing along with the Worcester Ukulele Band that had everyone clapping.
The Birmingham Children's Hospital was chosen as the charity to support as countless children and their families from the Ledbury area have benefited from the expertise and excellent care provided by the hospital staff. The hospital has close links to Leadon Bank as the two-year old great nephew of a resident is receiving treatment there at present. The activity coordinator at Leadon Bank, Ursula Ashworth said: "We are very proud of the residents as they organised this whole event themselves and worked extremely hard to make it the success it has proved to have been. In addition we offer our sincere thanks to the wonderful Worcester Ukulele Band."
