ON December 3 a free Heartstart course was held for parents at Leominster Primary School.
Over a two hour period parents learnt simple skills to enable them to help save lives and now know how to help someone who is unconscious, recognise the warning signs of a heart attack, deal with choking and serious bleeding and perform CPR.
Heartstart was set up in 1996 and to date has trained over 3.5 million people.
Leominster Primary School has three trained Heartstart instructors in school, Mrs Helen Rees, Mrs Jill Hurst and Mr James Edmonds. The school also purchased a defibrillator last year which was brought with donations from local businesses and charities and fund raising efforts within school.
