The Environment Agency has issued two flood warnings for the River Wye.
Water levels are expected to peak in Hereford tomorrow while riverside paths are being closed off this evening.
Agency officials warned people who use the footpaths to find other routes on their way to school and work tomorrow morning.
Meanwhile, heavy rainfall upstream in Wales has seen car parks closed in Hay-on-Wye.
Dyfed Powys Police tonight urged those drivers who had left their cars in the Gliss Car Park, near Hay bridge, to move their vehicles as soon as possible.
