THERE was a great turnout and a marvellous time was had by all that attended the annual Croft Ambrey sponsored walk held at Lucton School. This year the walk raised money to develop the new playing fields recently acquired by the school.
The route took walkers from the school up to the spectacular ramparts of Croft Ambrey Iron Age hillfort. The sun shone throughout the day and a hearty free lunch was eaten by walkers and supporters alike in Lucton's 300 year old Queen Anne dining hall.
Gill Thorne, headmistress said "It was a simply glorious day for the walk and we're so glad that so many people managed to attend. Well done to the walkers and to all involved in making the day such a success."
