A Herefordshire riding club has recently kicked off its summer season and is hoping more riders than ever will join in the many events - and maybe become members.

Marden and district RC meets regularly for various events at its outdoor venue of Houghton Court, Bodenham, Hereford.

This friendly, unaffiliated riding club, with well-equipped rings offers something for everyone, regardless of age or ability.

Emphasis is firmly on fun and good sportsmanship, and events are open to non-members, with all entries taken on the day.

You do not need a top class horse or the smartest of outfits to attend, although safe, correctly fitting head and footwear are compulsory, and a body protector is strongly recommended.

More serious competitive classes require correct, smart turnout for horse and rider - and the club says that anyone who is in any doubt should get in touch.

The showground offers good box parking with easy access, limited ringside car parking for spectators, plus excellent catering, first aid and toilet facilities, photographer and tack stall.
