TENBURY enjoyed a successful weekend with a two victories in the Worcestershire Ladies League Division 1.
Last Saturday, Tenbury travelled to Worcester 3rd where they were given a tough battle by a stronger than expected home side before emerging with a 4-3 win.
Worcester took an early lead and, although Emily Davies levelled the scores, the hosts scored again to gain an interval advantage.
After the break, Tenbury's pressure paid off against a creaky Worcester defence with Vicky Riley, two, and Amie Ewan finding the net.
Alice Wood was given the player-of-the-match award for some committed defending.
The following day, Tenbury produced an even more dominant display to win 5-2 at Bournville.
The visitors attacked from the first whistle and gained an early lead through Rachel Croxton.
Although the home side equalised, Tenbury quickly regained control when Riley found the net after a fine short corner routine with Davies. A second Croxton goal underlined Tenbury's first-half superiority.
After the break, Tenbury continued to dominate with further goals from Gemma Toms and Croxton, while midfielders Lindsay Aldridge, Jo Turvey and player-of-the-match goalkeeper Sophie Wood all excelled.
