CHILDREN at Michaelchurch Escley Primary School took part in a novel way to raise money for people affected by the devastating earthquakes in Nepal.
After the first earthquake on April 25, which had a magnitude of 7.8 and killed more than 8,000 people, pupils at the school wanted to raise money for those people left without food, shelter or clean water.
They made a Nepalese flag out of coins brought in by the children on the school's playground.
The Key Stage 2 children then counted the money which amounted to £136.20 and will be passed on to the Disasters Emergency Committee's Nepal Earthquake Appeal.
A second earthquake hit the country on May 12, with a magnitude of 7.3.
